Working in project management for over 20 years, I am really heartened with just how much progress there has been for LGBT+ professionals in construction. I value continual improvement and having completed both an MBA and Master of Project Management I learnt many skills, however, It’s the mentors I’ve had along the way that I credit for giving me the confidence to be myself, a gay man, in the construction industry. I would not be in the leadership role I am if it wasn’t for those mentors who helped me to not just forge through, but also grow & improve after each obstacle. Together we in the LGBT+ community still have a way to go and I’m grateful to be a part of BuildingPride supporting the next generation.
